Attendance: Sarah Achenbach, Cathy Berger, Fran Brown, Laura Cole, Lindsay Conboy, Susan Deise, Aimee Grable, Jennifer Helfrich, Melissa Nice, Sue Parts.
The meeting was called to order at 7:20 pm. The minutes from the June 5th Executive Board and General meetings were approved and will be posted on the website by Jennifer.
Treasurer’s Report: Cathy Berger said that she would transfer all of the Treasurer’s information to Lea Ann Howard when Lea Ann returns from vacation at the end of July. Cathy needs to see a plan of work for Educational Programs – last year they used only $4,000 of the $7,000 budgeted. The budget for Before and After School Clubs is increasing because the number of clubs is increasing. Cathy asked for help in recruiting teachers for the clubs. Mrs. Deise will speak with the teachers. Cathy said that this year the PTA might not be able to give as much to each of the teachers for classroom materials. Mrs. Deise will check with Dot Bender to see if Mrs. Pallante purchased the big books for kindergarten. Mrs. Deise will let Cathy know how the new computer and overhead projector, which Mr. Baldwin and Ms. Bender are selecting, will be invoiced. Cathy said that the PTA audit is complete and she is clarifying some other requests from the IRS. Jennifer clarified that money for unexpected items is to come out of the Innovative Programs and Materials budget. The 2007/2008 Budget will be presented at both Back To School Nights, but will be voted on only once, at the second Back To School Night Tuesday August 28th.
President’s Report: Jennifer announced that all PTA meetings would be on the second Tuesday of the month rather than the first Tuesday. If there is a meeting only, it will begin at 7:00pm. If there is a meeting preceded by a program, the program will begin at 7:00pm. (Health & Safety programs will begin at 6:30pm.), followed by the meeting at 7:30pm. This year’s schedule is as follows:

Vice President of Volunteers’ Report: Lindsay Conboy said that the first Volunteer Training session would be Thursday August 23 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. followed by the PTA portion of the evening from 7:00 to 7:30 pm, and grade level presentations from 7:30 to 8:30 pm. Since Jennifer will be out of town that night, Lindsay will be speaking on her behalf. Lindsay will need helpers to enter the volunteers’ information into computers from the mobile laptop lab. Mr. Baldwin will be coordinating with Lindsay.
Committee Reports
Back To School: Melissa Nice said that Dot Bender’s current enrollment figure is 575. Mrs. Deise stated that the number of staff is 60. Letters to be included in the Back To School packets need to be given to Melissa by Tuesday July 31. The packets will be on students’ desks along with a red RFES take home folder (Cathy Berger is ordering 650 since there are only 5 or 6 left from last year). Committees with displays for Back To School Night are encouraged to share table space in order to avoid congestion in the hallways. Melissa will contact Ms. DiLisio to see if she needs a table for display. Melissa requested that both sets of doors be open at 5:00 pm. to give parents time to see the displays and pre register at the volunteer training. The tables will be left up for Sneak A Peek At Your Seat (Friday August 24, 2:00 – 3:45 pm.) but the tables must be cleared off overnight with everything stored underneath them. Melissa asked everyone to hold onto their nametag holders, as they are very costly to replace. The date of the Teachers’ Back To School Breakfast is Friday August 24th. The Ice Cream Social will be held Friday September 7th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. outside at the back of the school.
Health and Safety: Sarah Achenbach would like her committee to provide each student with a copy of their Snack Booklet which can be included in the Back To School Packets or sent home in the RFES red take home folders. Sarah will have Krista Collier contact Cathy Berger with information on the cost of the booklets and whether or not it is already in the budget. The Health Fair will be held Friday March 14th immediately after school.
